POVIO is the outreach arm of Virtues Christian Centre, (VCC) which seeks to ensure that the gospel of Jesus is taken outside the walls of the Church and circulated to the nooks and crannies via every possible medium.
POVIO, as the brain child of Pastor Alexander Faranpojo, the Senior Pastor of Virtues Christian Centre, was inaugurated on 26th January 2008.It serves as a platform for corporate professionals and individuals to be committed in the realization of the vision given to the servant of God through prayers, financial support and attendance of different programs and outreaches.
Presently, there are a group of partners who fast and pray on behalf of the servant of God every Thursday. In addition, there are others who have also committed themselves to giving a certain sum in money on a periodic basis.
The following avenues have been explored by this outreach ministry and tremendous successes have been recorded
Outreach to Schools
Part of its vision is to go to the secondary schools and tertiary institutions and reach out to students, inculcating a sense of pride in their unique identities, promoting an environment for the discovery of their talents and abilities and positioning them for leadership roles wherever they are established. Presently, an average of 7 schools is visited on a regular basis.
Campus Fellowships
The VCC Fellowships commenced at two of our University campuses namely Ladoke Akintola College of Technology (Lautech) and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU). The growth at these Campus Fellowships has also been impressive with an increasing and regular attendance.
Lunch Hour Fellowships
This kicked off just recently and is meant to cater for Christian workers by imparting God’s Word unto them during their lunchtime. The fellowship is held every Wednesday by 12 noon at the Church premises and has recorded a good turn out over the period.
